In a world filled with plastic pollution, an aging scientist works tirelessly in his under-funded lab to create a biodegradable form of the substance. But a freak accident during an experiment one stormy night unleashes a hybrid monstrocity no one expected. As a result, the Earth Protectors Indigenous Council (EPIC) must take quick action when strange microplastic monsters begin to rise from landfills, floating garbage patches, and recycling centers threatening to attack humanity. The group contacts scientists around the world looking for antedote, weapon, or poison to eliminate the menaces. Meanwhile, greedy entrepreneur Jaxon Dixon, always looking for ways to exploit any situation, sees an opportunity to make himself even richer than he already is. His first vision is to manufacture toy versions of the monsters to sell to kids, and his second brainstorm, his boldest idea ever, is to capture the biggest, baddest speciman, put him on display, and charge people to see the captured creature. What could go wrong? Finally, when an elder member of EPIC reveals knowledge of a secret laboratory run by the last remaining TAINO Indian people living in the Dominican Republic (the ones Columbus stumbled across), a possible revolutionary solution is discovered. But can mass quantities be introduced in time to end the threat once and for all? That's the goal for EPIC Executive Director Chitto Tahlako (Choctaw) and his partner and EPIC lead scientist Dr. Nina Maya Montoya (Maya).
