Hunting and fishing has a heart rendering appeal to all outdoor people who pursue in season, fin, feather or fur as a hobby or for culinary reasons. Whether he or she is now one of the 'armchair type' or still actively takes part 'in the field' is immaterial, for when they become embroiled in the true enthralling under-the-moon adventures of 'Jock the Lad' the written word becomes likened to reality and the reader relives Jock's adventures of yesteryear as they unfold on the pages. Jock the Lad operated in the Scottish Highlands and elsewhere for nigh on forty years, without being apprehended or even identified. That could justify the claim that he was a very successful, if not the most successful all round Highland poacher of the 20th century. By reading Ring Around the Moon for yourself can you decide if that claim sticks. Euilleam
