Dark and tense, this novel will appeal to readers who enjoys international thrillers, law & crime mysteries, romance, Nordic noir, and eco themes.
Gnady Pankov, a powerful Moscow-based oil trader, made a bad bet on the future price of oil using the Russian mafia's money. To avoid his fate, he teams up with Axel Carlsson, a fanatical Swedish bio-environmentalist, to genetically modify a bacteria strain so that it voraciously devours oil. The pair begin using the bacteria to sabotage vulnerable oil storage depots and refineries in Gothenburg, Sweden and Jacksonville, Florida, creating panic over the world's oil supply.
Props include Sweden's Wasa Museum, the Drottningholm summer palace, a butane candle lighter with a Dala horse handle, and a Fabergé egg. Perfect for fans of James Patterson and Daniel Silva.
