A smart, well-plotted, genre-bending mystery set in the high-stakes world of TV production. -Kirkus Reviews

FROM THE AUTHOR of LIFE ASKEW and WOUNDED SONGBIRDS... it's the turn of the millennium in New York City, and Promo Cowboy is one of television's most colorful Writer-Producers, a hard-drinking, old-school freelancer at the dawn of the digital age, with a reputation to protect and a dwindling list of clients to keep happy. Competition for gigs is fierce alright-fierce enough to kill.

Enter a serial strangler with a fetish for old videotape, who systematically targets Cowboy's competition at his favorite networks and stations. With colleagues dropping dead all over town, our hero is busier than ever with old and new clients, including the beautiful and mysterious Belinda Justice. Meanwhile, the NYPD and the tabloids are circling, saying they've found their man.

Crime novel, satire, TV-industry expose', PROMO COWBOY celebrates the unsung creative heroes who bring television to its dizziest heights, and slimiest depths. Fellow producers, editors, art directors, musicians, marketing and station executives-any of them might be the killer, maybe even Promo Cowboy himself!
