A story that predicts a major split in society? Clive Jory's fictional tale of a determined hard left activist, bent on overturning a democratically elected British government, is set against a background of violent protests across Europe, as countries emerge from their virus ravaged economies, And demonstrates the fragile line many nations are walking. Quentin Openshaw plots to use a divided society to rid the UK of its elitist rulers after being unable to accept the crushing defeat of his socialist dreams in the UK's 2019 General Election. Believing that it is possible to remove the political and economic structure that he despises so much, he chooses as his role model the Thracean gladiator Spartacus, a former Roman soldier and slave who took on the might of its Empire. But, by chance, a retired police superintendent comes into possession of his plans in a story that stretches from London to the Algarve, Geneva, The Lake District and a quiet corner of Surrey.
