High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Pretty Polly Stakes is a Listed flat horse race in Great Britain which is open to three-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs (2,012 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late April or early May. The event is named after the celebrated racehorse Pretty Polly, the winner of the Fillies' Triple Crown in 1904. It serves as a trial for the Epsom Oaks, and the most recent horse win both races was Ouija Board in 2004. The Pretty Polly Stakes is usually held on the same day as the 1,000 Guineas Stakes. Pretty Polly (1901-17 August 1931), was an outstanding English bred Thoroughbred racehorse and an outstanding broodmare. She was only the fifth filly to win the British Fillies Triple Crown since its inception in 1814.
