The Presbyterian Movement in the Reign of Queen Elizabeth: As Illustrated by the Minute Book of the Dedham Classis, 1582-1589 is a historical book written by Roland G. Usher. The book delves into the Presbyterian movement in England during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, specifically focusing on the Dedham Classis, a group of Presbyterian ministers and laypeople in the county of Essex. The book draws heavily from the minute book of the Dedham Classis, which provides a detailed account of their meetings and activities between the years 1582 and 1589. Through this primary source, Usher explores the beliefs and practices of the Presbyterian movement, as well as their relationship with the Anglican Church and the wider political and social context of Elizabethan England. The book provides a valuable insight into the religious and cultural landscape of the time and sheds light on a lesser-known aspect of English history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
