As pessoas vivem sem verificar por conta própria. Não perguntam o que foi feito, nem como, nem segundo quais critérios algo passa a funcionar. Perguntar exige tempo; o resultado, quando vem pronto, chega rápido. A interpretação desce de cima, o cotidiano segue adiante, sem atrito. Pouco a pouco, o ser humano aceita falar a partir do lugar que lhe foi dado.
Ao traduzir, atravessei lÃnguas e modos de pensar de paÃses distintos. Nesse percurso, vi também como sistemas e poderes organizam o controle interno. As leis antidiscriminação do Ocidente, o modelo regulatório da União Europeia, o sistema chinês de vigilância - e a maneira como tudo isso escorre para dentro da sociedade coreana, sem anúncio.
Este livro nasce desse percurso. Acompanha o rastro de um poder que não pode ser verificado e que, ainda assim, se infiltra até virar julgamento cotidiano. Decisões tomadas longe da casa atravessam a porta e reaparecem como conselhos de pais, regras de trabalho, frases ditas sem pensar. O Estado não precisa mais explicar: passa a interpretar. A explicação vem depois. A dúvida, quando surge, já carrega outro nome.
Afastei-me um pouco dos valores que o mundo repete perseguir. Não ignorar o incômodo passou a ser também uma tarefa minha, algo que não quis delegar. Tudo começa em dias comuns: no instante em que a porta da cozinha se fecha sozinha, nas letras que borram o papel, numa caixa sem identificação deixada no canto da área de reciclagem, no gesto automático diante de um caixa eletrônico. Nada parece grave isoladamente. Ainda assim, algo não se aquieta.
Sistemas de votação que não admitem verificação, o entrelaçamento contÃnuo entre Judiciário e Executivo, instituições ocupadas em se preservar - como nos debates sobre dissolução religiosa - tudo isso se acumulava num mesmo campo. Não como tese, mas como algo que se repetia. À medida que a escrita avançava, o sistema recuava. No lugar dele, aparecia algo mais elementar e mais incômodo: o instinto humano, aceito como normal. A facilidade com que se encerra uma pergunta. A rapidez com que se escolhe um lado. Se o que me cabia era registrar, não quis fazê-lo de forma dócil. Preferi tocar com as próprias mãos. Ver até onde as pessoas simplificam causas, com que velocidade encerram interpretações, e a quem esse impulso acaba servindo.
『A Igualdade Convocada』 foi esse gesto. Um exercÃcio de parar diante da pergunta. Uma recusa em antecipar a aprovação. Uma vida mantida em suspensão. É por esse desconforto que continuo.
