The Plattner Story is a science fiction novella written by H. G. Wells. The story follows a group of friends who discover a strange phenomenon that allows them to see beyond the physical world. One of the friends, Plattner, becomes trapped in this alternate reality and must find a way to return to his own world. Along the way, he discovers the true nature of reality and the limitations of human perception. The novella explores themes of time, space, and the nature of existence. It was first published in 1896 and is considered one of Wells' lesser-known works.Heaven forbid that I should be led into giving countenance to superstition by a passion for impartiality, and so come to share the fate of Eusapia's patrons! Frankly, I believe there is something crooked about this business of Gottfried Plattner; but what that crooked factor is, I will admit as frankly, I do not know. I have been surprised at the credit accorded to the story in the most unexpected and authoritative quarters. The fairest way to the reader, however, will be for me to tell it without further comment.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
