PERCAL is a high-stakes espionage thriller set in 1985 across Paris, New York, and Buenos Aires. When veteran CIA field operator William Kellersen is murdered inside an exclusive Parisian club, the scene appears to confirm a familiar narrative: a compromised officer, a French mistress tied to the KGB, and a fatal breach. But the single envelope found in his jacket-marked only with the word PERCAL-shatters the simplicity of that explanation.
Before her disappearance, the woman known as Claire Beaumont warns Kellersen that they know, urges him to flee, and tells him to find her brother in New York. Minutes later, she vanishes. The envelope, photographed unsealed at the crime scene but mysteriously sealed in evidence, contains nothing-yet its emptiness is itself a message.
In Buenos Aires, SIDE intelligence officer Stella Gallarde is summoned by Director Harry Jefferson and informed that the CIA has requested her by name. She is to fly to Langley and join CIA officer Joe Featherstone, a man known for loyalty when others abandon ship. Their first task: investigate Claire's brother, Étienne Laurent, a Park Avenue restaurateur with no apparent ties to espionage.
As Stella and Joe follow the trail from Washington to New York and eventually Argentina, they uncover a buried secret hidden inside an old tango-Percal-whose meaning governments have spent decades trying to erase. What begins as a murder investigation becomes a descent into a covert doctrine older and more dangerous than the Cold War itself: Persecute. Compromise. Annihilate on Location.
PERCAL has begun. Or perhaps-it never ended.
A murdered CIA officer. A vanished woman. An empty envelope carrying a single word: PERCAL.
Set in 1985 and spanning Paris, New York, and Buenos Aires, PERCAL thrusts readers into a world where intelligence, betrayal, and buried history collide. CIA officer Joe Featherstone and Argentine SIDE agent Stella Gallarde must unravel the truth behind a mysterious tango whose hidden meaning has haunted governments for decades.
What they discover will force them to question every assumption-and every ally. Because PERCAL isn't just an operation. It's a doctrine. And it was never meant to be found.
