They refuse to remain silent in the face of those who demand their obedience. This novel tells the story of young people's resistance to coercion through a series of powerful and unsettling events that raise questions about choice, love, responsibility, and the price of silence. It is narrated by a woman who, moving between memories of a past romance and her present life, struggles to understand her own role in the tragedies unfolding in the shadow of fanaticism and fear. Spanning three generations, the novel traces this cycle of intolerance and fear through a fluid movement between past and present. Khosro Pooyandeh began writing through his involvement in theater, studying playwriting at the Samandarian Experimental Theater Center and training at the Mahin Oskooee Theater Academy. He Has studied Educational Sciences and also studied English translation, which he did not complete. His uncensored novels include two published works Staring into the Abyss, In the Darkness of Night, and Rain in the Wasteland, which is forthcoming by Asemana Books.
