Parallelis: Emergence and Continuity is a short experimental work of philosophy exploring a simple possibility: that reality can be understood not only through things, but through the relationships, boundaries and transformations between them.
Beginning with difference, the book develops a relational framework for thinking about identity, meaning, observation, recursion, love, pain and experience. It introduces the Floral, the emergence of recoverable identity; the Phantom, coherent traversal between structures; Parallelum, an experiential language of relation and transformation; and Gee, a proposed measure of continuity preserved through change.
But this is not written as a conventional philosophical treatise.
Theory is interrupted by narration. The author argues with GPT. Ideas are compressed, expanded, questioned and returned to from different directions. The process of developing the framework becomes part of the book itself.
Parallelis does not claim to be a final description of reality. It offers something smaller and stranger: a way of looking at how patterns form, how identities survive transformation, and how meaning might emerge through relation.
We begin not with objects.
We begin with relationships.
