As the first person since Dante, a nurse from Toronto by the name of Jane is allowed to visit Paradise while still alive. Led around by Molière, she encounters a group made up of significant personalities, such as Confucius, Don Juan, Othello, Jefferson, Cleopatra, Mona Lisa, and Elizabeth I, who wish to put an improvised comedy on the stage. Everyone's contribution is admirable, but Molière repeatedly admonishes the group not to hint at anything erotic given the nature of the place in which they find themselves.
