Our Turn
Written by Keiko Short - Illustrated by Deidre Henkelman
When the last chairlift creaks to a stop and the mountain grows still, a whole new kind of magic begins.
By day, the slopes are alive with skiers, snowboarders, and laughter. But have you ever wondered what happens after everyone goes home? In Our Turn, a whimsical picture book for ages 4-8, beneath a blanket of twinkling stars, the quiet mountain wakes up in the most unexpected ways. That lost glove in the snow? Not really lost. That dropped trail pass? Just a clue to a secret nighttime adventure.
Follow along as the snowy slopes transform into a moonlit playground of mischief and wonder, where hidden forest friends come out to glide, tumble, and play until sunrise sends them back into hiding. With Deidre Henkelman's cozy, atmospheric illustrations and Keiko Short's playful, lyrical storytelling, Our Turn invites young readers to discover that the mountain never truly sleeps - it simply comes alive in a different way.
Perfect for bedtime reading, ski trip keepsakes, and winter storytime, this enchanting tale is a must-have for any child who loves snow days, mountain adventures, or a little bit of nighttime magic. Snuggle up with Our Turn and find out what really happens on the slopes after dark.
