These short stories update readers on the post-apocalyptic development of the four cities, five years after the novel of the same name:
- Vancouver sees the return of Henry Epstein, seeking the unnamed brunette girl he left behind after he and his father rescued Thea White from the city council. The brunette lives among the city's elite and must choose either a hero or luxury.
- Calgary is threatened as American Marauders sneak into the oil sands because of some scientists who traded provincial intel for research financing. Operator Abraham McKinley is sent to confront the horde as the scientists schmooze with rich rebel benefactors.
- Toronto Agent Martin White helps the city fight giant beavers beneath the city as beaver cults spring up within the Big Smoke. A lovely young woman he knows is secretly a member of one of these organizations, which wants to court him as a potential member.
- Montreal's brutal leader Alexi is met by his old friend Matilda Epstein. She brings news from Russia that forces him to rethink the defences of the French city. When Toronto Mayor finds out she's around, the Chevy Brothers host the pair as Alexi and Matilda struggle with a complicated attraction that ends in violence.
