No Gay Out, the second book of Don Drake's American Zealot series, pries open the closet of Jacob, a repressed Christian man in total denial of his sexuality. The civilized Pacific Northwest metropolis of his youth had given him the leeway to acknowledge his attraction to the same sex, but when his family moves from Seattle down south to the alien landscape of Dry Wells, an evangelical fundamentalist border town, he is slammed into the closet faster than you can say, Amen! No Gay Out is a tale of alienation, denial, and survival: a social horror story of biblical proportions. Jacob's quest for social acceptance leads him further into the church, preaching and praying his way through the Reagan 80's up through the American apocalypse of 9/11 until he comes upon his final solution: conversion therapy.
