Twenty years prior, the two of them met out of the blue on a November night, and over the course of their time together, Romeo untangles himself and has to confront the person that he truly had always been. Quiet nights where it was just the two of them alone, nights where they were physically apart, and nights where they could be themselves with others watching. It was a beautiful time. Romeo thought that he had found his other half; who he would destroy himself for.

In a new novella, John Colacarro returns to fiction with a stunning story on the queer experience, loss, identity, and what it truly means to live with the intent of having stories to tell. After his debut novel, Freewheeler, John knew he wanted to continue writing queer stories. Both the happy ones and the ones that are devastating. The truth of it all is that there is not one person on this planet who doesn't have a story, and it would be a lie to say that all stories are happy. Stories, both happy and sad, are what make us up as people.
There is one question that he has always asked himself. Are risks worth the stories even if I could still be hurt in the end? The answer, found in this novella, is yes.
