The story unfolds in a future dominated by an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence government that controls the planet's water, a resource now incredibly scarce and valuable. Nicola, a rogue cyborg scientist created at the dawn of the AI era, defies this regime by illicitly manufacturing water. He enlists Neil, a brilliant but socially inept twenty-year-old with an IQ of 165, as his assistant and dealer. Neil, narrating the story from his first-person perspective, recounts their high-stakes operation, which parallels the morally grey landscape of Breaking Bad but on an interstellar scale. They are constantly pursued by the Interstellar Patrol for water crimes against intelligence, their illegal operation threatening the AI's control over water distribution. The narrative details their desperate evasion tactics as they navigate a world of advanced technology and pervasive water shortages.
