MURDER ON THE WIND refers to the famous Wind River that flows through the rustic Wyoming town of Dubois, where thirty-four-year-old Eric Rawlins works as a hunting and wilderness guide. After eight years of an unhappy marriage back in Michigan, he has no desire to ever marry again, but his handsome looks and appealing personality draw women to him like bees are drawn to honey, and he's just fine with that situation. It is when happily married men are being murdered in the region, without any known motive, that the town sheriff calls on Eric to help with the investigations, because of his knowledge and expertise in the wilderness areas, where some of the men are being murdered. But Eric quickly realizes that these cases will not be so easy to solve, for although all the murdered men were married, none of their wives had any problem with their husbands' extramarital affairs. A retired father from back east arrives in Dubois, looking for his estranged daughter, whom he had not seen or heard from in the past ten years. He calls upon Eric to help him find his daughter, whom he had learned from his divorced wife, was somewhere in the area. Eric knew that it would not be an easy task to find someone that did not want to be found, and furthermore, there were many young women from back east that arrived in the rugged west, and worked on Dude ranches and the likes, in order to have the romantic, western experience.Eric had been dating a local woman with a ten-year-old son, and he was very happy with this arrangement, until a gorgeous blonde from back east came into his life, and then major problems arose. Now dealing with the emotions of two beautiful woman, but making it clear to them that he had no intentions of ever getting married again, the wilderness life, devoid of women, became more and more appealing to him.Trying to find a motive for the murders was proving to be more difficult and complex than the sheriff and Eric had ever imagined, but because Eric's good rancher friend had been the first victim, Eric was determined to solve the murder cases, even if it meant losing his own life in the process. And it was when a woman appeared to be the most likely murder suspect, that everything in his life got turned upside down; never to be the same again.
