Chipper McGraw is the son of a Navy carpenter who steps into the wrong office and becomes a pilot. Victoria is a naive nurse adored by all. She cares for everyone but loves no one. The adventures of these three characters intertwine at a recruit training school in the early years of the First World War. Born in the Cotswolds of England near Stratford-On-Avon, David Gubbins now lives in Luzern, Switzerland. He based the book on a story he used to tell when he was a Royal Air Force recruit in the 1980s. He has spent 30 years working with aircraft and is currently a technical writer in Switzerland. I write manuals and training material for modern training aircraft.
