Do your plants die just from looking at you?
Then this book gets you.
My Plants Hate Me: A Memoir in Leaves by Michelle Hoffmann is a laugh-out-loud, oddly comforting exploration of what happens when a plant lover with no green thumb refuses to give up.
Follow Michelle's hilarious, heartfelt journey through overwatering disasters, fern funerals, and the spiritual awakening that comes from accidentally resurrecting a pothos named Leafy Larry.
In ten witty chapters - from The Great Chlorophyll Lie to Composting My Feelings - this book blends humor, warmth, and a surprising amount of wisdom. It's part memoir, part therapy, part self-care manual for anyone who's ever tried too hard, cared too much, or just wanted something green to survive them.
✨ You'll love this book if you've ever:
Bought a plant to start fresh and watched it wither immediately
Given your cactus a name, a pep talk, and too much water
Found life lessons hiding in potting soil and spilled coffee
Wanted to laugh through your own growth process
It's cozy, funny, and quietly profound - perfect for plant parents, self-care seekers, and anyone trying to nurture something (even themselves) back to life.
Because sometimes, the only thing growing faster than your mistakes is your sense of humor.
