There was no way, Arlene thought, that Phyllis, her mother, could've killed herself. She was a strong woman of faith with too much love left to give. Yet, for months, her health had been deteriorating, and Agnus, Arlene's sister, was forced to spend her days taking care of her aging mother while Arlene worked through her own issues after her ALS diagnosis.

Now, the family is devastated after such a loss, and the two daughters are left to handle the family's affairs and search for peace and healing. Agnus does this by running the finances, while Arlene, who is left to her own devices, searches for anything that would make it all make sense. But nothing does...until.

As more and more facts bubble to the surface, Arlene notices that not all is what is seems. Maybe her mother wasn't as crazy as the family had thought. Maybe her fall from the third-story balcony wasn't a decision to end the suffering.

Maybe not everyone Arlene knows and trusts is as innocent as they seem.

This compelling story follows a family stricken with grief as they search for answers and uncover the sinister truth behind jealousy and greed, and the harrowing journey that ensues when one daughter chooses to hear the voice of God in the midst of chaos.
