This story takes place during WWII in New Mexico; a magnet for spies because the atomic bomb was being built there. New Mexico was also the training base for the B29 plane that would deliver that bomb.A boy and his sister encounter someone they believe is a German spy, and set out to prove it. Those kids discover: If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and waddles like a duck; could it be a duck? But not many spies are walking around these days. Don't need them because 10,000 satellites are watching everything. Their penetrating technology even follows us into our bathrooms. Then there is the internet where you can find plans and parts to build a nuclear device. Want to create a global human virus? Google it and you can find everything required to mix it up in your kitchen. For people teetering at the fringe of craziness, there are on-line instructions and materials for building a doomsday gadget that can blow this planet to kingdom come. But all that did not exist 80 years ago. German spies were in every American city. They blended into American life and could be pastors, bus drivers, school teachers, or even your parents.
