Written for July, traditionally dedicated to the Precious Blood, this devotional work by Fr. Marin de Boylesve, S.J. (1813-1892) presents thirty-one days of spiritual reading and prayer. His meditations lead the reader through the unfolding mystery of redemption: beginning with figures and prefigurations in the Old Testament, continuing through their fulfilment in the New Testament, and concluding with the presence and action of Christ's Precious Blood in the sacraments of the Catholic Church.
Fr. de Boylesve explains why the shedding of Christ's Blood was necessary for the salvation of the human race and encourages readers to respond with gratitude, confidence, reparation, and deeper love for the Crucified Redeemer.
