This vintage book is a detailed guide to building model ships, being a practical handbook on the craft of historical ship modelling. Written in simple, plain language and covering everything from necessary tools to making miniature guns, this is a book that will appeal to modern enthusiasts, and one that would make for a worthy addition to collections of allied literature. Contents include: Introduction, Tools and Equipment for Model Making, Materials and Their Application, Making the First Model, A More Ambitious Model, Fittings, Masts and Spars, Sails and Sail Making, Running and Standing Rigging, Painting and Finishing, Plan Sheet, etc. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction on model building.
