Meet Mindy, a little girl with a big heart, a gentle spirit, and a great love for her home by the sea. Every day Mindy visits the Marina where she skips along the pier and combs the beach for seashells and pennies. One day Mindy discovers a baby seagull and rescues it from a thunderstorm, which leads her to embrace her Christian faith by loving a helpless creature of God. Through a gratitude of her bravery and love for animals, Mindy's mother and Uncle Bob, a fisherman, encourage Mindy to share her experience with others. Mindy embraces her joy in caring for a baby animal and shows her classmates how she and her mother took special care of the fragile bird. In the end, Mindy receives the greatest joy. The joy in setting the little bird free.

Told simply and softly, the story of Mindy inspires a value of kindness through action and encouragement that from love and compassion we can be heroes through Christ.
