Milo spent the summer training for crew rowing competition. He is the first in his family to attend university and carries their expectations. He is determined to make first squad rowing team.
For little over three years, Daw trained in the Mystery at Derby manor. She nears the end of her tutelage and readies for a government career offered by family friends. Little does she know that the rug is being pulled from under her. She is coerced through a trick of verbiage in a former mentor's will into attending her greatest challenge yet: university.
The two find themselves pushed into Victrix, where every student is a highborn son or daughter. They are both interlopers in their own way but that is the least of their problems.
