Is the Millennial Kingdom a literal future reign of Jesus Christ, or is it only an allegory for spiritual blessing, the present Church age, or the eternal state?
The Millennial Kingdom Is Not an Allegory makes the case that Scripture defines the kingdom as real, future, earthly, and literal.
Jeff C. Edwards builds a Scripture-interprets-Scripture argument from the covenants, the prophets, the words of Christ, Acts, Romans 11, and Revelation 20. This book argues that the Millennial Kingdom is not a side issue in prophecy, but is directly connected to the faithfulness of God, the promises made to Israel, the throne of David, the restoration of Jerusalem, the rule of Messiah over the nations, the binding of Satan, the reign of the saints, and the order of Revelation itself.
This study examines:
- The Abrahamic covenant, the land promise, the Davidic covenant, and the New Covenant
- Israel's restoration as Israel
- Jerusalem and Zion as the center of Messiah's rule
- The nations under the reign of Christ
- The difference between Christ's present session and His future kingdom reign
- The sequence of Revelation 19-21
- Satan's binding, the thousand years, the first resurrection, Satan's release, and the final rebellion
- Why the allegorical view cannot preserve the kingdom Scripture actually describes
The book does not deny that Christ reigns now, that the Church is blessed in Him, or that Revelation contains symbolic language. Rather, it argues that those truths do not cancel the future literal kingdom promised throughout Scripture.
If God's words mean what they say, then the kingdom He promised must come.
The Millennial Kingdom Is Not an Allegory is a direct biblical defense of the literal reign of Jesus Christ and a clear refutation of the allegorical kingdom.
