In June 2021, the Ministry of Prisons initiated a clandestine experiment, The Mescalero Project, a self-sustaining biosphere hidden in a remote area of the desert. On January 12, 2022, an intense solar disturbance occurred. Solares - geomagnetic solar winds of a greater magnitude than ever before recorded - disrupted satellite and landline communications, as well as power grids around the globe.
