Sometimes, life just seems like you are in a rut. It happens to everyone. Whether its from a lack of focus or even knowledge, it happens. You cannot help but push forward in your day to day, grind through your workday in hopes of a better tomorrow...to only wake up to the same sunrise and same job you just worked. For Finn De Los Santos that is exactly the feeling he's been grappling with. However, this is a somewhat new feeling for him. Having always felt like his life was on the cusp of something better, it just felt like he was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
After being raised by his precious abuelitos, he found himself taking an unfortunate inheritance from the death of his parents, he went and traveled the world and learned how to cook from people and chefs alike. It was even better when he stumbled an American Entrepreneur looking to expand into a global culinary market. So, when you meet a businessman who promises you fame and fortune, what could go wrong?
It all can go wrong. Coming back stateside, he feels lost, unsure of what he exactly wants to do with his chef career. His friends think he is the next Ramsay, but he thinks otherwise. Self-doubt can build up in someone and lingers even longer. Especially when there is a field of so many great and groundbreaking people, how do you stand out?
It's not until he goes home one night that these are catapulted into his focus, a little nudge always comes along to assist those that need it.
There exists a world where things that are forgotten go to live and die. This realm, available to anyone seeking refuge from life's ever revolving timeline, will only present itself to someone who is so close to their potential, but resists with grim determination.
Therein La Playa, opens its doors to Finn and offers him respite from the daily stresses of life. The only thing you must do while you are there, work on yourself. Do not worry though, La Playa comes equipped with exactly what everyone needs in times like this: a person specialized in guidance and one who knows the ins-and-outs of life in La Playa. That would be Rayna Cortesz, a smart, caring, and powerful Latina who has chosen to stay in La Playa instead of returning home when she had come through. However, Finn's shepherd on this journey has other intentions for her turtista.
