The aim of this study is to design a tool that is capable of linking photos to songs or entire albums based on memories. This means that memories of people, parties, holidays or other experiences can be turned into a digital reflection of those memories. Why do people associate certain experiences or people with music, and do all people do this? How does the process of audiovisual memory work? Synesthesia and digital reminiscence are two scientific terms that are directly related to the topic and will be explained. Furthermore, previous scientific studies involving extraordinary experiences and memories with music will be presented and discussed. Is it possible to technically implement such a tool and how can it be integrated into the media infrastructure? Does the iMentio tool, which is still in the theoretical stage, have a place in today's media landscape and the oversupply of modern communication options, software, apps and digital media, and are the current IT and design resources sufficient for this?
