Meanwhile, the Second World War breaks out and the young duchess goes to the front as a volunteer nurse, but soon a series of sudden events force her to make the most unthinkable and risky decisions, eventually transforming her into the first female commander.
Marianna, strengthened by her values of loyalty and courage, will not bow to any compromise. She will distinguish herself on every occasion by her steely character, combined with fortitude and great discipline.
She will succeed in impossible feats: bringing a missing daughter back to her real mother, saving numerous soldiers condemned to certain death on the battlefronts, and freeing an army of children in an orphanage under bombardment.
