The aim of this book is to help veteran chess players continue to enjoy their hobby.
You can't expect the same from an older mind as you would from a younger one.
This chess book is unlike any other, with a few notable exceptions. It doesn't reproduce games, variations, moves, or diagrams; it simply presents ideas and concepts. It's a book that can be read without a chessboard or computer.

It presents a suitable methodology to help veteran chess players become more efficient in their thinking and more effective in their results. It's not a magic bullet, but it helps. There's much to gain and nothing to lose.
The main tool for playing chess is our brain. As we age, our brain deteriorates. If the tool changes, we must change how we use it. We can't think the same way now, as veterans, as we did when we were young. We need to retrain our thinking.
Obviously, young people can follow the methodology in this book, although I would advise them to make better use of their memory and calculation skills. The analogy with any physical sport is clear: a young person can play like a veteran, but a veteran cannot play like a young person.
It aims to be a clear and concise book. A practical manual. Easy to read and apply.
