Every Islamic tradition awaits the Mahdi. Almost every discussion of his coming focuses on justice - honest courts, punished oppressors, a wronged world set right. Far less attention goes to the other half of the same promise, repeated across the hadith literature just as often: abundance. Wealth given without being counted. Provision flowing from earth and sky in a way the age of oppression had withheld.
This book takes that second promise as seriously as the first - and asks a question rarely asked directly: what kind of economy could actually produce abundance like that?
The answer, argued across forty chapters grounded in the Qur'an, hadith, and the Bank of England's own explanation of how money is created, is direct and, this book argues, exclusive: no other economic system - not the present monetary system however justly administered, not capitalism, not socialism, not a return to the gold standard or barter, not any Islamic finance product built to comply with riba's legal form while leaving its structural engine untouched - can produce the uncounted abundance the Mahdi's era describes. Only a genuinely moneyless architecture, built from the Qur'an's own economic institutions, can. This book makes that case directly, chapter by chapter, ruling out each alternative before building the one it argues actually works - including a direct historical example of why simply changing what currency is made of (gold, silver, or fiat) never solves the underlying problem: sixteenth-century Spain's flood of New World silver produced inflation, not abundance, because the scarcity was never about the metal.
