Little Lin Lin loves butterflies and there is one butterfly she wants to catch more than any other.
Determined to find the most beautiful butterfly in the whole wide world, Little Lin Lin sets off on an adventure of her own. With her butterfly net in hand and her mother's encouraging words in her heart, she crosses a stream, climbs a hillside, and follows the elusive butterfly into a dark cave.
But catching the butterfly proves much harder than Little Lin Lin imagined. Along the way, she faces frustration, fear, exhaustion, and disappointment. Still, she keeps trying, drawing courage from the lessons her mother has shared with her.
When her adventure does not go as planned, Little Lin Lin discovers an important truth: sometimes the things we love are too beautiful to capture. Her journey teaches her that disappointment does not mean giving up and that being brave can mean trying again tomorrow.
Little Lin Lin is a heartfelt children's picture book about courage, determination, perseverance, emotions, and the special bond between a child and her mother, told through a colorful butterfly adventure that young readers can enjoy and discuss with the adults who read alongside them.
