Above, Paloma became a roaring furnace of defiant light, channelling an ancient, annihilating power through the great root at the core of Lumindor in an attempt to seal the gaping maw of the void. Below, the colossal Dragon Lyra fought a tireless, chittering tide of shadow until her magnificent body was strained past its breaking point.
When the last sliver of the breach vanished, the overwhelming noise of creation and fury collapsed into a profound, suffocating silence. This was the moment of aftermath: a narrow victory bought at an absolute price, leaving Paloma a hollow husk and Lyra a motionless monument, two fallen warriors sinking into a heavy stillness that was less peaceful than pregnant with the vast, essential cost of their survival.
