Twenty-six-year-old Sofia D'Amato was living a perfectly pleasant life; she had a career as a first-grade teacher, her own apartment, and a relationship with a promising new boyfriend. However, the results of a DNA test upended everything Sofia knew about herself. With her new truth in front of her, Sofia was forced to reevaluate everything--including who she was at her core. The Lovely Mistake by Becky Durfee taps into the reader's anxiety forcing you to experience Sofia's life one heartbeat at a time. I found myself flipping through the pages, one after the other, eager to read the next. I spent the day engrossed in the book and finished it in one sitting. Tina Mccoy The Lovely Mistake is a page turner from the beginning. Becky Durfee has done it again! You are quickly drawn in by the characters and the story they tell. Just when you think you know what's going to happen, Becky points you in another direction. A great read! Jeanette Johnson Becky Durfee grabs me from the first page with characters. I am instantly invested in and cheer on to the end. Marla Musatow I can relate to Sofia's worries...[the] portrayal is spot on. Monti Mccanless The Lovely Mistake was an excellent read. Ms. Durfee tackled a couple of life's most difficult quandaries with grace, compassion, and thoughtfulness. She writes her characters in such a way that you feel you are part of the story, wading through some of life's most difficult possibilities right there in real life. Jennifer Humphreys The Lovely Mistake is a well written book. I enjoyed the plot and the character dynamics. A young woman's search into her DNA reveals more than expected. I recommend this book.
