An unforgettable tale of courage, friendship, and the most unlikely martial artists you'll ever meet.
Deep in the rural Chinese countryside, at the foot of the mist-shrouded Song Mountains, sits the Lotus Farm. Here, the gentle farmer Lao Zhang lives with his ten beloved dogs-pampered, spoiled, and utterly useless when it comes to protecting the farm from the relentless intruders that emerge from the forest each night: cunning Red Foxes, vicious packs of Dholes, and a monstrous Wild Boar that destroys everything in its path.
The dogs are terrified. The farmer is desperate.
Enter Pip-a small, big-eared Corgi with the heart of a philosopher and the soul of a leader. Given to Lao Zhang years ago by a foreign engineer, Pip has always sensed there was more to life than soft beds and boiled chicken. When he rallies his nine frightened packmates with an impossible plan-to journey up the mountain and seek wisdom at the legendary Shaolin Temple-it seems like madness.
But madness becomes miracles.
What follows is an epic adventure across treacherous mountains, through skeptical villages, and into the hallowed halls of an ancient temple where an old master agrees to teach them the ways of Kung Fu. Through seasons of grueling training, the dogs transform-learning not just how to fight, but how to be still, how to find strength in weakness, and how a pack becomes a family.
From Xing the noble Wolfdog mastering the Tiger stance, to Mei the anxious Chow Chow discovering the speed of the Leopard, to Pip himself learning that true power comes from rootedness, not height-each dog finds their path.
But the true test awaits them at home. The intruders have not forgotten the farm. And when the pack returns as disciples of Shaolin, they must face their greatest challenge: a final, epic battle to save the only home they've ever known.
The Lotus Farm Guardians is a cinematic, heartwarming story about love that learns to be strong, about the wisdom of bending like the wobbly tree, and about the small heroes who prove that the greatest warriors come in the most unexpected packages.
For readers who believe that every dog-no matter how pampered-has a hero inside, just waiting for the right moment to emerge.
