The Logical Influence of Hegel on Marx is a rigorous analytical study that examines the profound philosophical debt Karl Marx owed to G.W.F. Hegel. This work delves into the transition from Hegelian idealism to Marxian materialism, focusing specifically on how Hegelian logic provided the structural foundation for Marx's socio-economic theories. The author provides a detailed comparison of the dialectical method, tracing its evolution from a metaphysical system of the Absolute Idea to a revolutionary tool for understanding historical and economic development.
Through a careful reading of both philosophers, the text explores the nuances of the standing Hegel on his head metaphor, evaluating which elements of Hegelian logic were discarded and which were synthesized into the framework of Das Kapital and other foundational Marxist texts. This volume serves as an essential resource for students of political theory, continental philosophy, and the history of ideas, offering clarity on one of the most significant intellectual transformations in modern history. By highlighting the logical continuities and ruptures between these two giants of thought, the work illuminates the philosophical underpinnings of historical materialism and the critique of political economy.
