One of the greatest privileges of my life has been serving the students, faculty, and staff of Wheaton College. Every day I walk among young women and men whom God is preparing to influence churches, schools, businesses, governments, mission fields, and communities around the world for Jesus Christ. They are gifted. They are intelligent. They are passionate. Yet like every generation of believers, they need more than knowledge-they need daily nourishment for their souls.
One of the greatest privileges of my life has been serving the students, faculty, and staff of Wheaton College. Every day I walk among young women and men whom God is preparing to influence churches, schools, businesses, governments, mission fields, and communities around the world for Jesus Christ. They are gifted. They are intelligent. They are passionate. Yet like every generation of believers, they need more than knowledge-they need daily nourishment for their souls.
That is why I wrote Manna Moments.
The children of Israel received fresh manna from heaven every morning during their wilderness journey. God never intended for them to live on yesterday's bread. He faithfully provided what they needed for each new day. In the same way, our Lord invites His people to meet Him daily through His Word, prayer, worship, and faithful obedience. Spiritual maturity is not built in a single chapel service, retreat, or conference. It is formed one faithful day at a time in the presence of God.
Manna Moments is designed to encourage that daily rhythm.
These devotionals are not intended merely to provide information about the Bible. Their purpose is transformation. My prayer is that every reading helps move the Wheaton College community from simply knowing about God to joyfully walking with God. Information may fill the mind, but only the Holy Spirit can transform the heart. Lasting discipleship happens when God's truth is received, believed, obeyed, and lived.
This devotional series follows the Book of Acts because Acts tells the story of what life looks like when ordinary people surrender themselves completely to an extraordinary God. The first believers were not perfect people. They were empowered people. They learned to depend upon the Holy Spirit, live in authentic Christian community, proclaim the Gospel with courage, serve one another with humility, and trust Christ in every circumstance.
That same invitation stands before us today.
