The Life of the Venerable Servant of God, Monseigneur Dumoulin Borie: Bishop Elect of Acanthus, Vicar Apostolic of Western Tonquin, and Martyr is a historical biography written by Augustine Francis Hewit in 1856. The book tells the story of Monseigneur Dumoulin Borie, a French Catholic bishop who was appointed as Vicar Apostolic of Western Tonquin in the 19th century. Borie faced numerous challenges and obstacles during his tenure, including persecution and violence from the Vietnamese government and local authorities. Despite these difficulties, Borie remained committed to his faith and continued to work tirelessly to spread the message of Christianity throughout the region. Eventually, Borie was captured and martyred for his beliefs, becoming a symbol of courage and devotion for Catholics around the world. Hewit's biography provides a detailed and engaging account of Borie's life and legacy, offering readers a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of a remarkable figure in Catholic history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
