The Life of Jesus: Critically Examined is a book written by David Friedrich Strauss in 1902. The book is a critical examination of the life of Jesus Christ, and it challenges the traditional Christian beliefs about Jesus. Strauss argues that the Gospels are not reliable historical documents and that they contain many inconsistencies and contradictions. He also questions the supernatural events described in the Gospels, such as the virgin birth and the resurrection. Instead, Strauss suggests that Jesus was a human being who was influenced by the political and social conditions of his time. The book is considered to be a landmark in the field of biblical criticism and has been influential in shaping modern views on the historical Jesus. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the historical and theological study of Christianity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
