The book Life of James Henderson: Medical Missionary in China is a biographical account of the life and work of James Henderson, a Scottish physician and missionary who spent over 30 years in China during the 19th century. The book, which was originally published in 1873, provides a detailed and personal look at Henderson's experiences as a medical practitioner and missionary in China, including his efforts to establish hospitals and clinics, treat patients, and spread the Christian faith. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which focuses on a different aspect of Henderson's life and work in China. The first chapter provides an overview of Henderson's early life and education in Scotland, while subsequent chapters detail his journey to China, his experiences working as a medical missionary, and his interactions with the Chinese people and culture.Throughout the book, Henderson's dedication to his work and his commitment to improving the lives of the Chinese people is evident. The author describes in detail the challenges that Henderson faced, including language barriers, cultural differences, and the difficulties of practicing medicine in a foreign country with limited resources.Overall, Life of James Henderson: Medical Missionary in China provides a fascinating glimpse into the life of a pioneering medical missionary who dedicated his life to serving others and spreading the Christian faith in China during a time of great change and upheaval. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
