If you love Leonard Cohen this edition is for you!
Leonard's Dojo: Poems in Honor of Leonard Cohen is an homage to our favorite Canadian poet, as one of the most significant artists of our time. Most of the 28 poems in this collection are written from Leonard Cohen's point of view as he guides us through life. Bear hunting, prison breaking, survival in the desert and in the battlefield are all lessons taught at Leonard's Dojo.
Verses in this collection rhyme, never straying too far from the themes of flexibility, resilience, perseverance, handling adversity and learning to manage one's emotions. Following are excerpts of poems in the book.
I'm not weary of deception
for it always will fall through.
In my journey of conviction
I'm realistic and I'm blue.
---In the context of survival
you'll be ruthless, you'll be cold
the occasional act of kindness shows
that you haven't lost your soul
---I burnt down my reflection
put an old man in its place,
an advantage I always cherished
for it helped me lose with grace.
