A lawyer desperate to save his ailing business which is failing due to his total lack of business nouse, a disregard for his employees and contemptuous of his clients, devises a plan to steal the entire fortune of a deceased client who apparently died with no living beneficiaries, but appointed the firm as her executors. So with the aid of a couple of rogue police officers, always out to make a quick buck, the lawyer endeavours to put the blame on a new employee. But the new guy through a surprising coincidence, gets wind of the plan, and his suspicious partners also try to warn him. But the new employee concerned has a plan of his own to use the situation to help a friend overturn the wrongful conviction years previously of his nephew, a young, articled clerk, who despite a good case was badly failed by the appeal process. The plan is fraught with difficulties, but must succeed. Then there is a surprising development, in which the psychopath lawyer could enjoy a lifetime of wealth and carefree living, when his brother, fed-up with his sibling's behaviour and encouraged by his suspicious wife, does a covert DNA check which indicates that they are not related, but the lawyer may be heir to a substantial fortune. His brother sees this as a golden opportunity to put right all the injustices and hurt his lawyer brother has visited upon his own family. But will the plan work? And who are these benefactors?
