Im dritten Faszikel des Supplements zu CIL IX bietet Marco Buonocore für rund 550 neu gefundene lateinische Inschriften der Regio Italiae quarta (Marsi, Aequi) eine kritische Edition samt bildlicher Dokumentation. Der Band enthält ferner ausführliche Addenda und Corrigenda zu den bereits im 19. Jahrhundert bekannten und 1883 von Theodor Mommsen edierten Inschriften, jetzt erstmals in Gegenüberstellung mit Fotos, abschlie end einen Kurzindex und eine Übersichtskarte. Das Gebiet der Marser und Aequer umfasst u. a. die antiken Städte Marruvium und Alba Fucens in der Nähe des Fuciner Sees in den Abruzzen. Es besitzt reiches und für die Kultur- und Sozialgeschichte des Römischen Imperiums bedeutendes epigraphisches Quellenmaterial. Diesem dritten sowie den 2018 und 2019 erschienenen Faszikeln folgen zwei weitere; der fünfte wird die Indizes zum gesamten Supplement enthalten. Die modernen Editionsprinzipien folgende kritische Dokumentation der lateinischen Inschriften der römischen Regio quarta ist die Frucht aus drei Jahrzehnten Forschungstätigkeit von Marco Buonocore.
