Crypta San-blasiana Nova Principum Austriacorum... details the relocation of the remains of Austrian royalty from the Cathedral of Basle and Koenigsfeld Monastery in Switzerland to the new crypt of Saint Blaise Abbey in 1770. Written in Latin, this historical account by Martin Gerbert provides a meticulous record of the exhumation, transfer, and re-interment of these significant historical figures. The text offers valuable insights into the religious practices, aristocratic customs, and political considerations surrounding the movement of royal cadavers during the 18th century. Scholars and historians interested in Austrian history, religious history, and the cultural practices of the era will find this work an invaluable resource.
