It's 1890 in France when the disturbed artist, Vincent Van Gogh goes into a field to paint and is shot in the abdomen, dying two days later, from what they say was suicide...Over a century later, despite the mystery of his missing canvas and materials, evidence of a stunning discovery emerges. Van Gogh's final, uncompleted, painting has apparently survived. Accidentally entangled in the intrigue, a struggling British artist, Alex, and his art historian wife, set off to France to follow the trail, under threat of blackmail from a wealthy patron, and personal injury from the violent henchman of a Russian art collector, who is also unravelling the mystery. He has his eye on Alex and will stop at nothing to get his hands on the painting. Stuck between murder at the hands of a Russian assassin, or jail for forgery and a broken marriage, that painting becomes Alex's only chance of turning his life around. A suspenseful mystery weaving the historical facts of Van Gogh's death, and his final painting, effortlessly through this work of fiction.
