This story told by an award-winning author is set in the breathtaking Scottish Highlands of the mid-1300s, this tale follows seven-year-old Aila, a brave girl who dreams of becoming a Knight in Shining Armor-a role her clan believes no lass should ever aspire to.

Defying gender roles and breaking stereotypes, Aila refuses to learn the so-called woman skills. Instead, she hatches what her brother calls her mad scheme to master archery and combat, determined to push against status quo norms and inspire girl empowerment. Aila knows she must change the way the Scots view their womenfolk to prove that girls can be just as strong and capable as boys.

One fateful night, as the castle slumbers, Aila and her brother secretly practice their skills with a bow and arrow in the moonlit courtyard. Suddenly, a deafening roar shatters the stillness, and a massive dragon with glinting golden eyes and smoldering breath crashes through the lush foliage. Standing side by side, arrows drawn, the siblings face the terrifying creature-a true test of Aila's fearless determination. Will she meet this challenge and show her clan what a young heroine is truly capable of? Could her courage inspire a change that will ripple through history?
