Lafcadio's Adventures is a novel written by French author Andre Gide. The book tells the story of Lafcadio Wluiki, a young man who is half-Asian and half-European. Lafcadio is a restless and curious individual who embarks on a journey of self-discovery, traveling from France to Tunisia, and then to Algeria. Along the way, he meets a variety of characters, including a beautiful dancer, a wealthy businessman, and a group of revolutionaries. With characteristic irony, Gide leads the police to a solution wherein the wrong man is apprehended and punished for the crime, while the charmingly perverse Lafcadio goes free.
